What a trip! After 4 days jam-packed with the best drum performances, latest drum gear, and of course meeting and chatting with fellow musicians – we’ve landed back home in British Columbia, Canada. We’ve been providing updates as we’ve been going along, but I thought I’d take the time to compile the BEST of NAMM 2016 in one post!

ROLI Booth
To kick off this list, we have a fantastic performance by Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy), Larnell Lewis, and Marco Parisi. Both Cory and Marco were using Roli’s featured product – the Seaboard RISE. We got to witness a couple of great solos from these two, all with Larnell filling in the gaps with his great drumming. You can find out more about Roli’s unique new keyboard by clicking here!
Zildjian Cymbals
Tony from Zildjian was kind enough to give us a two-minute breakdown of what’s new in their world. Starting with the new ‘A’ Avedis line, Zildjian decided to take a step into the past and recreate the magic of vintage cymbals. From the hollow logo, marked gram weight, and patina style lathing – these pies will take you right back to the 50s and 60s. The other debuting cymbal line is the ‘S’ family. Made with B12 alloy, these affordable cymbals will give you a smooth, balanced tone.

Roland V-Drums
Michael Schack believes that having a real drummer on any DJ stage is far superior to having a computer simulate the drums. I think he proves it in this clip, don’t you? Michael Schack shows how the Roland TD-25KV can easily fill the roll in all styles of music – including Dubstep and EDM. Learn more about the TD-25KV by clicking here!
Ludwig Drums
Artist, musician and Drumeo instructor Pat Petrillo is here to tell you all about what Ludwig has going on for 2016. From their load of new snare drums, a pocket kit, and everything else in between – something is sure to suit your fancy. Explore Ludwig’s wide variety of drums on their website!
NFUZD Audio
NFUZD Audio brought in Russ Miller to demonstrate their new Audio NSpire Electronic pads (paired with a Mapex drum set). We’ve never seen something quite like this before! Watch as Russ performs a cover of “Fields of Gold” by Sting using both acoustic and electronic sounds. Can you tell the difference? For more information head to NFUZDAudio.com.
Gon Bops Percussion
Stumbling across Alex Acuña and other fellow NAMM-goers playing out at the Gon Bops Percussion booth was definitely a treat. We got there at the tail end and grabbed this snippet! Learn about Gon Bops Percussion at GonBops.com!
Tycoon Percussion
Gabor Dornyei was just at Drumeo for a live lesson, so it was great to run into him at NAMM and get a rundown of his new percussion pack by Tycoon Percussion that he mentioned while he was here. Watch it in action during this overview and percussive jam! You can learn more about Tycoon Percussion by heading here.
Dunnett / George Way Drums
We gave Ronn Dunnett two minutes to tell us all about what’s new with Dunnett Classic Drums and George Way Drums. Ronn is actually a local drum manufacturer, so it’s always exciting to see what he has in the works. You can stay up-to-date with everything Ronn has going on by clicking here.

We also saw some beautiful gear…
…And came across a few familiar faces!
Special mention to everybody who came out to Tony Roma’s! It was great to see Drumeo students, instructors, and friends at the Drumeo NAMM 2016 meet-up on Sunday Night.

And that’s a wrap! We hope you enjoyed our best of NAMM 2016 rundown and hopefully, we’ll see you there next year!
