We had the very special honour of having Daniel Glass in our studio to host a live lesson! Daniel has toured across the globe with the swing group Royal Crown Revue (often credited for the “Swing Revival” movement) and is considered to be one of todays leading authorities on the evolution of classic American drumming.
In this lesson, Daniel paints a picture of American popular music and its history. He believes that if you tap into the past and understand the pulse and rhythm from the music back then, it will improve and flavour your playing today.
Want to know where the quarter note pulse came from? Curious about the origins and evolution of American popular music? You’ve come to the right place.
